It is consulted on major planning proposals at all governmental levels. This is a major undertaking and is much appreciated by the stakeholders in Guildford. It reviews all planning applications in Guildford town centre, and others in the Guildford urban area which it considers to have significant impact on the locality. It engages in pre-application discussions with developers and councillors on major applications. It writes about 75 letters per year to the Council commenting on planning applications. On occasion a representative speaks at Planning Committee meetings.
